A Word Can Paint 1000 Pictures…

[UPDATE Wed. April 14: I’m going to hold off on the What If? Wednesday post I had planned for today because (1) My sister featured LICB on her blog today and her BEAUTIFUL chums have been leaving comments (2) Check out today’s Bible Verse – could it be more perfect? —->]

Are you like me…do you love the written word?  I love to read!  For me, the words I read paint vivid pictures in my imagination.  I love having inspirational words, or the truth of scripture sprinkled throughout my home and life as encouragement, comfort, or to spark an idea.

The Nester is hosting a DaySpring Book Crop giveaway.  Hop on over and enter to win your favorite…here’s one I designed with one of my favorite quotes on the DaySpring site:
[Woo hoo – I won the $50 gift cerificate!]

Here are a few of the words I have currently hanging out around my home to inspire me:

And here is my favorite place to go every day where God paints beautiful pictures for me of real events that happened long ago, pictures of His incredible love for me and presence in my life today, and wonderful pictures of hope for an eternal future with Him!:
Bonus: Read my friend Carissa’s blog and discovered she is hosting a word-y giveaway.

Have a beautiful day!

  1. Agreed! The written word is a great inspiration for me as well. It's funny that you should mention that it paints a picture in your imagination, because when I read I always get this crazy desire to draw! I haven't drawn in a really long time, but I've been itching to do it lately, because I've been reading more.Anyway…cute decorations too! I love stuff like that. :)Love you!–Ab

  19. Definitely–the written word is INCREDIBLE. Specifically, the BIBLE is incredible. I have to give a presentation this morning, and I was feeling super nervous–I hate public speaking. HATE HATE HATE HATE it. And I opened up my Bible and came to the verse where Moses was lamenting to God that he was "slow with speech and tongue" and that he couldn't possibly go before the Pharoah. And God goes, "Who created Man's mouth? Who makes him speak or makes him mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I,the Lord? Now go: I will help you speak and teach you what to say." It was a TOTAL God-thing! I feel so confident now. :)Words are amazing–God is amazing. And I love your blog! I came over from Lynnette, and I'm definitely going to come back again. It's very cute–you designed it, Lynnette said? It's "crazy beautiful," I can tell you that much. :)Blessings to you,–Bekah

I've always spent way more on books than toys and have always had something to read around the house. My oldest ended up majoring in English/Literature (go figure). I think I must have done something right. I just found you today through MamaKat and then your sister… I'm adding you and your sis to my blogroll (I also have a sister that blogs and she got ME started).
