A Lesson Remembered

Ever have one of those moments when you tell yourself, “I knew that!”. Well, here’s my moment from this morning. I knew it, I even read it again in the manual for my new waffle iron (except the wording wasn’t exactly clear – but I knew it!). This is what happens when you don’t spray or grease the “non-stick” plates of your waffle iron before the first waffle. What makes me the saddest is the loss of the last of the healthy & not-inexpensive multigrain pancake & waffle mix – and I still had to come up with something else for breakfast and clean up the mess!

Don’t we do this often, if not daily? 1 John 3:24 says, “Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.” How often we act like we don’t know Christ lives in us and gives us the power to overcome any temptation. We “know that we know”, but we pretend we don’t know. I, for one, am thankful that our God abounds in grace. I can go to Him and say, “I knew it! And, I’m sorry, please forgive me and help me to remember in the future.” Then I can unplug…let the situation cool down…and clean up the mess!!

  1. By the way…I think you should turn off the code thingy because I always have to do it twice. I’ve never had any problem with spam – maybe 3-4 the whole time I’ve been blogging.Just a suggestion. 🙂

  2. And sometimes, it’s more hard to forgive ourselves when we know that we “knew it” and messed up anyway. Thank goodness for grace!
