Baby Step: Mantel – Done!

This mantel was kind of a surprise to me. My trend lately has been “less” with the accessorizing {it’s all relative, of course, my “less” will surely be someone else’s “too much”}. For some reason, maybe because I am appreciating and working with what I already have, I am okay with adding a little more…enjoying the layers.
True confession time: I spent 99 cents at Goodwill when I saw this little dessert dish. I couldn’t resist it’s smoky topaz color, which I knew would be a great complement to my amber glass pieces.

very pretty! I love the glass dessert dish:) We don’t have an official mantle with the new house but I’m thinking I’ll use the top of our cubbies as a way to decorate for the fall:)

I really like the pumpkin on the candlestick. I use candlesticks a lot in my decorating – though they rarely hold actual candles!
